Dolma and Hummus — Strip #1

Before there was a book, before there was a Kickstarter, there was a comic strip.

Pico the Parrot started as a strip — Stooge’s attempt to document life with a very opinionated yellow-naped amazon. And somewhere in the process of writing that strip, Stooge decided that his fictional alter ego also needed to be a cartoonist.

Which is how Dolma and Hummus was born.

Dolma and Hummus is the strip within the strip. In the world of Pico the Parrot, Stooge draws a comic about two dachshunds — Dolma and Hummus — who live next door and have their own very strong opinions about everything. Pico finds this mildly insulting. Two dogs getting their own comic strip. He has thoughts.

We’re publishing the Dolma and Hummus strips here as they exist — hand-drawn, limited in number, and very much their own thing. Think of it as the B-side of the Pico the Parrot universe.

This is Strip #1. It starts, as all things should, with an introduction.
