Day 3.
This one is called The Last Photo.
It is exactly what it sounds like.
This is the last photograph taken of Pico before he disappeared — standing on the Imagine Dragon statue outside the Coronado Public Library, looking extremely comfortable for a bird who was about to cause thirty-three hours of chaos.
What happened next: a gust of wind came through and moved the dragon’s head. Just slightly. Just enough. Pico, who is brave about most things and deeply unreasonable about statues that move without warning, departed the premises at speed.
He did not consult anyone about this decision.
He was recovered thirty-three hours later at the same library — having apparently reconsidered the dragon and found it acceptable, once it stopped moving.
